Perspectives

Biblical and Theological Conversations

at the Intersection of Christ and Culture

Thursday Evenings at 7:30-8:30 PM on Zoom (September 17-December 3) & Interviews Throughout the Fall

“A Christian mind is not simply thinking done by those who consider themselves Christian. . . . Instead, Os Guinness wisely writes that 'thinking Christianly is thinking by Christians about anything and everything in a consistently Christian way - in a manner that is shaped, directed, and restrained by the truth of God's Word and God's Spirit.' . . . The Christian mind is a mind that operates under the belief that there is something outside of ourselves that we must take into account. There is a God . . .. Thinking in light of God's existence and his self-revelation is what it means to have a Christian mind.” - James Emery White

Perspectives is all about helping our people develop a Christian mind. When it comes to the topics of politics, the environment, business, women in leadership, mental health, living life well, racism, money, science, technology, other religions, and all others, the Christian faith has something important to say about it. Unfortunately, however, even those of us who call ourselves Christians too often haven’t really thought long and hard about what our faith has to say. Instead, we allow our opinions and actions on a host of topics and life issues to be shaped by a myriad of other voices clamoring for our attention. Thus, we must learn to “take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 5).

In Perspectives, we will explore a range of topics and provide a Biblical and theological perspective on these topics. In this season, we will do this in two main ways:

  • Online Teaching & Discussions on Thursday evenings (7:30 PM on Zoom) and

  • Online Interviews

Come join us! Click on the boxes below for access to these resources. Also, check out the schedule of topics for Thursday evenings this Fall.
