Vision, Mission & Values

Our Vision: The Church That We See

The Mission Cincinnati is an intentionally rooted, creative, diverse, and empowered community of faith seeking to love God and reveal His kingdom by stewarding His goodness, truth, and beauty in our neighborhood, our city and the world.

Our Mission: How We Pursue This Vision Together

The Mission Cincinnati Invites Everyone to belong, Grow, Serve, and Go together.

1) Belong - We invite everyone to belong in community.

2) Grow - We invite everyone to grow in relationship with Jesus.

3) Serve - We invite everyone to follow Christ’s example of serving one another within the local church.

4) Go - We invite everyone to go to our surrounding communities outside the 4 walls of the church as a part of a fellowship of missionaries.

Our Values: Who We Are As We Live Our Vision & Mission

1)     Rootedness - We ground ourselves in God’s deep love for us revealed in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, in the Anglican tradition, the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, the Sacraments, Creeds, and practices of prayer engaged by God’s people over millennia.

2)     Formation - We keep company with Jesus, allowing Him to show us our beauty and brokenness, and to lead us to become more like Him. We recognize this is a process that takes intentionality, patience, and the work of the Holy Spirit, so we slow down to thoughtfully engage in seasonal rhythms and spiritual practices to open our whole selves up to God’s presence, so that we might grow as more resilient, non-reactionary, and loving disciples of Christ.

3)     Hospitality - We share our lives with others, as Christ shared His with us.  We foster welcoming spaces of togetherness and healing for friends and strangers.  We build friendships intentionally across differences of race, socioeconomics, and generation.

4)     Attentiveness - We tune our hearts to God’s presence, so that where God is moving and what God is doing informs how we tend to real-time needs and empower the God-given gifts of the people entrusted to us with creativity and faithfulness.

5)     Engagement – We seek the flourishing of our world by practicing cultural discernment, pursuing justice, mercy, and reconciliation in the Way of Jesus, and inviting others to join us on this journey of following Christ together.
