During the season of Lent in 2025, we are preaching through Jesus’s Sermon on the Plain from chapter 6 of Luke’s Gospel. Each week, we will consider a different spiritual practice—fasting, silence, almsgiving, forgiveness, & service—and our congregation will be invited to live that practice out in practical ways during the week. The hope of this series is that we will both sit with and learn from Jesus’s teaching in a text that is sometimes called “A Christian Manifesto,” and then we will be shaped to be more like Jesus through actively living that teaching out.
