Discipleship Opportunities at the Mission
Here are all the discipleship opportunities that you can find throughout the year. Note*: Not all of these opportunities are in place at this time, but we will be building them out through 2021 and 2022.
1. Small Groups (Autumn and Winter)
Regional Small Groups – Weekly gatherings that gather throughout Cincinnati for fellowship, engagement with Scripture, and prayer
Cohorts – Weekly gatherings with a specific discipleship purpose, including:
Pathways cohorts (connect newcomers, move towards membership, introduce the foundations of faith)
Formation cohorts (short-term discipleship/formation communities that engage specific aspects of formation/discipleship at a deeper level, i.e., Apprentice Groups, Alpha, etc.)
Triads – Regular gatherings of three people focused on prayer and deeper relationship with each other. Triads meet as often as the group desires.
2. Gatherings (Autumn and Winter): Monthly gatherings around affinity/common interest (Men, Women’s, College, Moms, etc.), focus on fellowship, opportunities for occasional short soul-care retreats and seasonal celebrations for these affinity groups. These are also invitational spaces to invite friends from outside the Mission.
3. Classes and Trainings (Epiphany-term and Spring-term): Teaching on a variety of Biblical/Theological/Missional topics that change each term, preparation classes for Baptism and Confirmation, and various training for our Mission leaders
4. Holy Week Devotions: Special Opportunities for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday
5. Retreats (Summer): Relaxing getaways for staff and church to commune with God, His creation, and each other.
6. Summer Book Groups – Invitational and informal opportunities for small groups of people to gather to discuss a discipleship/formation book recommended by staff or of their own choice.
7. Dinners for Nine (Summer) – Summer dinners for 9 people in homes around Cincinnati.
