CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR JOB DESRIPTION

The Mission Cincinnati seeks a gifted and experienced part-time church administrator, who will joyfully work alongside our existing ministry staff to plan and execute a variety of ministry projects including weekly Sunday service needs, community outreach events, midweek mission community groups, social media & website maintenance, and church finances/payroll.  Experience and a proven track record of competency is preferred in as many of these areas as possible, however training will be given to the successful candidate to supplement areas that are new.

 We are a very young church plant that has grown from 2 – 67 people in 2.5 years with a vision to continue to grow and plant neighborhood-based churches throughout our city.  Our church meets in a Recreation Center in the neighborhood of Evanston for Sunday worship, however we enjoy office spaces that we use during the week in the neighborhood of Norwood. 


JOB DESCRIPTION

The job is part time (10-15 hours/week).  The successful candidate will work with the Lead Pastor of the Mission Cincinnati to determine 2 full (5-8 hour) days that they will work in the office. 

 Compensation will be $15/hour.

 The Church Administrator reports directly to the Senior Pastor but will often work with our Associate Pastor for Congregational Care, Director of Community Outreach, and Director of Children’s & Family Ministries as well.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, print, and/or purchase needed materials for weekly Sunday services & special services

  • Assist pastoral staff with meeting & event scheduling

  • Assist with special event planning

  • Write checks, oversee payroll, and keep great records of church financial information

  • Build on current processes to strengthen web and email based church communications

  • Assist with maintaining website & social media platforms

  • Annually issue tax receipts to donors and assist with occasional church mailings.

  • Attend weekly worship and plug into our community as a part of our church.

  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and be able to function effectively in a high capacity workplace.

  • Demonstrate excellent written & verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrate comfort working with (or learning to work with) a variety of different technologies and digitally-based applications including Mail chimp, Quick Books, Facebook, Instagram, Planning Center, and Squarespace.

  • Be able to self-teach when necessary to learn new skills to solve problems.

  • Demonstrate flexibility, comfort with change, and enthusiasm for working in a start-up setting

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalency

  • Committed faith in Jesus Christ

  • 2+ years experience in church administration or otherwise administrative or secretarial field.

  • Ability to make at least a 1-year commitment to this position

  • Ability to start in this role by as early as August 1st, 2019.
